RHS mod installation

7 posts in this topic

I'm tired and I've had it to the eyeballs..  trying to install RHS suite USAF AFRF SFA and GREF.  The instructions lead us away from the olden days of running updator and batchfiles that do everything for you, and lead us to steam for the all singing super way to install, helping alleviate pressure on RHS servers through success.

Except I've installed through steam as requested on a GamingDeluxe server; it's given me the 4 @blah folders in root, nice..  its given me the bikeys in my keys folder, great..  its not given me anything else but frustration.  there's nothing in the traders.  not even a space.  the RHS tool appears on the left hand side of the screen when I press esc,  but that's it..

So, what does steam miss out please?  If it's loot tables which need to be manually frigged, there's no other files or information included in the docs or 4 new folders that I can see, that's going to help me.

Where can I find the additonal steps to get this working and/or table information for the four elements please?

Or am I overlooking the obvious..  Is this supposed to call in tables in the background and I have something daft preventing it?

Thanks

might be a stupid question but in your mpmission w/e map you are using in that CPP did you add the mods to the trader in there also?

Not a stupid question at all InSaNeNite..  I can tell you that I haven't as there wasn't an instruction to do so.  Treat me carefully, ExAd and the Extended Base were my first ever venture into setting up a server and installing mods and that was only just before the upgrade the other day.  The instructions on those were okay to follow..

Now, he says, modding exile servers at 53 years old..  when you say mods to the trader, have they been included somewhere that I need to unpack?

thanks

QUOTE: ### Manual Installation

Unpack the three folders (@RHSAFRF, @RHSUSAF, @RHSSAF and @RHSGREF, note that if you downloaded them separately then the following instructions apply to either/or) from the downloaded archive into the root of Arma 3 installation. Unpack the sample missions into the `Missions` folder in the Arma 3 root. Add the mods to the start up using either your favourite launcher or by adding the `-mod=@RHSAFRF;@RHSUSAF;@RHSGREF;` to the launch options of Arma 3 in Steam. Copy the `.bikey` file to the `Keys` folder in Arma 3 root."

There you go, that's it.  Installation info..  I remember the days when I used to write technical install guides..  write them and include every step start to finish, talk to your reader like they've never pressed a key before...

Hello InSaNeNiTe Thanks for your patience.  Yes, it's altis.  I can find the mpmissions config.cpp with all the usual prices and items but nothing off RHS without unpacking around 80 pbo files and hand-balling...

I've now found github TraderMod which looks to be the answer to my dreams here..  gotta say thanks for taking the time..  I'll get on uncommenting the mods I don't have so I can have this up and running..

Thanks again.. and kidnest regards
