Looking for a 3D dev

7 posts in this topic

I won't go into specifics, however, I want to make a mod for my exile server (and everyone) that will add content (uniforms, items, weapons, etc..). I am very experienced with writing config files and sqf scripts, however, my experience falls apart when manipulating 3D character models to work with A3. I am looking for a 3D developer that will be able to convert 3D character models that I will send to him/her to work as A3 character uniforms/equipment. I am currently able to add my character models into A3 as static objects and they look fantastic, however, I am unable to make the models into playable character uniforms. If you have what it takes ,would be willing to help add a great content mod to the A3 community, and don't mind doing it for free, please send me a message on discord https://discord.gg/0bfJoi0XaNhjEzc5

I hope you find someone... but to be honest, you probably have more chance of seeing a flying pig. (just being honest).

No where in there do you state that you are good at 3d modeling, only that you have the items and you will send them over. If you knew how to model and had these models then its basically all config at that point....

But just judging by your statements here you have somehow gotten 3D models, but dont know how to get them ingame as wearable objects or equiptment. That is *all* config.

P.S. Ripped models don't fair well with most of the Arma community.. Just tossing that out there if it implies here or not :)

@Andrew_S90 To clarify, my issue is specifically 'correctly assigning' all of the memory points required by A3 to properly animate a character uniform while wearing it. I don't want the animations to look deformed. I am not saying here that I can't learn to do this right in time, and I will likely progress into having the needed experience given enough time; I just was looking to see if there was someone out there that may be able to help me speed up the process and help my vision to become a reality much faster.

I'll be real with you. Good luck finding someone to 3d model for free. Most of the modelers in the arma community charge 120+ per model.

Again, you have the same issue. The ones that do have the knowledge or have spent hours and hours on end trying to find 'non-existent documentation' are not willing to share for free. Most of them wouldn't share even if you paid them because it's just too much work.

Your best bet is to play around with configuring stuff until you have a very specific problem, at which point you can post on the forums and hope somebody with the right knowledge gives you a hand.
