    With the change to the new physical pop tab system we know many of you were worried about having a way to safely store your pop tabs. In an effort to add some balancing options, we have added a new locker object and pop tab storage system.

    It's very simple. You can deposit pop tabs that you currently have in your inventory into the locker or withdraw pop tabs from the locker and they will be added to your inventory. You are limited to depositing up to the max storage limit set by your server. Default value for pop tab storage is currently set to 10,000pt. Each player will only have access to their own pop tabs. 

    Server owners, you can place the lockers like any other building/object in-game and we will have them at the Terminal Trader City by default (initServer.sqf). The maximum amount of pop tabs that can be deposited is set in the mission config.ccp under cfgLocker.

    Can you guys make different versions of the locker For eg:

    Exile_Locker

    Exile_2xLockers

    Exile_3xLockers

    Exile_4xLockers

     

    A locker by itself doesn't look good. But to add multiple lockers around the map, especially 3 in one place will end up in alot of objects. Same concept as Hbarriers.

    Yes, the only way to earn money is to sell stuff in the traderzone where the locker room is so u cant lose it after ur starting on a new server.

    The three lockers shown are actually just one object.

    Very cool looks like you made my friend happy. haha he was a bit upset when i told him that physical poptab were commin in the game next update.

    Now with 10k safely stored he cant complaint. i mean come on now hahah

    Anyway ill use it too since it will be in but i like the thrill that i can loose everything and have to start over. Its just a game after all.

    I can see us having the max poptabs being set rather low on our server.  I originally though physical poptabs would be the solution to our spawn car suicide epidemic for getting money.  Going to have to gimp the storage to keep it to a minimum unless anyone else has suggestions?

    While I think this is a good idea for noobs to have a start, I think having it configurable limit kinda sucks. I can see a ton of servers getting ready to use this as their banking system, making tabs untouchable again..pull out to purchase, put back when done.......Rip physical currency :(

     

    In a perfect world, limit would not exceed cost of a safe.

    This is what happens when the players and community gets a voice in a mod or game's direction. You can't make everyone happy. But you can make most people not actively pissed off.

    Would be the ideal limit but we all know that it only takes so many complaints from players to push an admin to change the limit.

    Unfortunately.  After so many cries and complaints towards the Devs for implementing the physical PT, they probably got tired of trying to please everyone who is too lazy to learn how to do this themselves. 

    Good job Dev team though on making great changes to the mod and attempting to please everyone. Must be hard to do so. Thanks for the mod and all your time devoted to make Exile what it is and what it will be.

    Now we get to see the cries and complaints of those that wanted to be able to steal all of someones hard earned work.  I will drink the tears of those who just wanted to kill/raid someone and take all of their hard earned PT's instead of actually putting in the time to earn their own.  A decent middle ground, but I'd still rather have the virtual with a high PT bonus giving from player kills.

    Hardly a cry or a complaint bud. Just the fact that there is something to lose/gain is what will bring the excitement back into the game. As it stands now, once you've accomplished gaining the high end guns/vehicles and have a suitable base built then what? PVP? At what cost? Once sitting comfortable at say 150k roaming around in a Hunter with a Mar 10 or a Cyrus and you wipe a whole squad out, why loot them? Your gun is better, your vehicle is better, you most likely have no interest in their gear or vehicle. So stealing their "hard work" isn't the case.

    I don't get the concept idea to be honest.

    I thought the current pop tabs system was fine by the way so i'm not moaning the the lockers are there just my understanding behind the physical currency was to introduce risk of money loss. 

    The current system your money is safe, the new system was to increase risk as it forced you to carry money round the map.

    current system you go to traders, buy or sell and the money alters in your virtual bank with zero risk.

    new system i go to the traders, withdraw from my locker, buy or sell, deposit left over money back in locker all with zero risk.

    what is the difference in risk factors between old and new systems?

    You can only hold 10,000 in the lockers. Which isn't a lot.

    The rest of your money you'll have to store at your base, which can be hacked (and territory taken in the new update too)

    It's default is 10,000, i imagine server admins will ramp that capacity up massively as that is what their user base will demand.

    Killing players and raiding their base *is* earning your (their) poptabs.

    $10,000 limit means most players can only stash a fraction of their total loot.  The rest is still in their base, waiting to be raided.  This is a safety net so players wont be completely wiped out when their base is raided.

    I love this argument on why PT's should be physical.  The long time players already have more gear and guns stored around the map then they are ever going to be able to use.  So why do you even need more PT's?  You just want to be able to get peoples PT's just to be a d@#$ basically.  The only players this is giong to hurt are the nubs that are trying to build up their gear and guns to the same level as long time players on the server.  I for one like competitive pvp and not just mowing down bambish players with inferior gear.  I would rather have players have easy and safe access to their PT's so they can gear up to the same level I'm at and meet me out on the battlefield.

    Stealing their hard earned work is the case because it is a grind to farm loot and turn it into a substantial amount of PT's already.  The new guys already have to worry about getting their loot back to the trader safely to sell.  If they start losing their PT's they'll get frustrated and find something else to play which in turn will kill server population.  That is my opinion we will have to wait and see how it turns out though.
