Killed by throw?

had a player report something he thought was sketchy... Killed by throw 412m with iron sights.. log show current weapon of killer as throw for this instance, but he said it was definitely a bullet. Anyone else seen this before?

Only time I have seen long range kills with non-long range weapons is from a mine or other explosive. Example would be player killed so and so with a Uzi from 2k away. Explanation is player left a mine, the victim hit the mine and was killed, but the game records the current weapon in the players hand as the weapon used and not the mine. But you say it's by a bullet, so no, I haven't seen that yet.
