MySQL Error: Failed to initialize database protocol

Ok so to start off. Me and a friend have been working for about 5 hours to trouble shoot this. For background, we're running a exile server with host havoc. We have ran into many issues but have managed to troubleshoot them. I'm now at a dead end with this though. Any help whatsoever would be amazing. Thanks.I've added in my rpt and log

Bascially yes, this is NOT a antihack issue, so should have been posted in the database section.  Anyways, your server is not connecting to the database, so depending on how you have the server setup (dedicated/rented/hosting) your sql server is either A.  not running, B. seperate machine than the server and it is down. or C. The connection info you have in exile.ini is not setup correctly.

Judging from the rpt itself, it looks like you are going through a hosting company, and they normally have things setup correctly.  So I'm going to go with either A. they have the database server on a different machine than your game server and the database server is down.  Or B. You changed connection settings in the exile.ini yourself and screwed it up   or C.  one of the machines is getting Ddos attacked and making it so they can't communicate between each other (has happened with me before)

Edit: looking and thinking about it again even more, did you even create the database?  was the server running fine before or is this something that just started happeneing?

make sure that your db info is the same info for  extdb-config.ini

Just to add on to the above posts. In Host Havoc your DB connection info will be located under Game Services > MySQL DB Info.

I am renting the server with DominoDown. I double checked the settings inside the extdb-conf.ini under [exile] and the information found in MySQL Database Info. The information matches in both of these two places. What else should I double check?

I found another problem, could this be it? We have a folder called 'db_related_changes' and the changes inside that folder weren't done. I will see if this makes a difference.

Where is this exile_db_changes.sql file suppose to go or what am I suppose to do with it?

I opened up the database and figured out how  to run that command to add the whitelist.
