How to install 1.8 @Mas (Weapons)

14 posts in this topic

Hello there, I was just wondering how I would install @MAS (weapons) to my server? I already know you have to drop '@mas' into the root directory but is there anything else that i have to the addons folder or the keys folder? I'm completely stuck, I have added it to my launch parameters but now when I launch, Exile is no longer there too. Any help would be great.

=======

Little more info:

I am running the latest of everything except @mas because many people use 1.8 (Not sure why, maybe the loot tables?)

I am also using Gaming Deluxe as my host provider, I say this because maybe you know hoe to setup the launch parameters? (I'll be honest I don't think I did it right)

To enable MAS you will need to put @mas in your -mod parameter after the @exile (should show -mod=@exile;@mas)

You will also need to add the MAS weapons to your loot table and stores so they can be found by players.

Personally, I would not use an out of date mod unless you had a specific reason (It's broken/removed feature/etc) since people downloading the mod from his armaholic site and from steam would have the 1.10 version

Thank you so much, I found it out after, I was putting the command line parameters in wrong and you had to check off each individual line/object you wanted to save with the command lines.

Edit:

I understand that, about the outdated versions, but many people use 1.8 because of A3Launcher but I might just update it.

I would use the most up to date version of the mod that is out there cause that will be the most stable.

Loot Tables., also as far as you members not seeing the guns or anything goto the post provided and you can  download a tool that i have uploaded and it will help you with the loot tables, also you would need to put them into the config for the traders.

Agreed.

I'm planning myself to implement @MAS (Weapons), however only a few selected guns will be buyable from traders, rest will have to be looted from missions and such, gives a nice touch to the gameplay, that you actively have to search for the weapons B|

That is actually a cool way to do it @ka0s.

For a PvE environment it's brilliant, because there will always be some sort of challenge, and with the current mission frameworks released, you can add them to their loot tables, and adjust their spawn chance, so you're not guaranteed a high tier weapon, but there is a slight chance for it to spawn ;)

That is very true and also if you have them in the traders all anyone has to do is go out and collect enough stuff sell it and bam they have anything they want.

Do you need to place @mas on Server and Client mods? I'm installing the latest but there is no definitive guide to installing.

Well MAS is not a servermod so that leaves one option doesn't it? :)

-mod=@mas;
