low fps

Question

so.... 25 fps... while breaking point at 80 and arma un-moded 75-100 ...

gtx 770 4gb (50 % used)

8gb ram (5 gb used)

i5-4690k (30 - 60% used)

monitored on gpu-z and afterburner

am i missing something ? because this is making exile unplayable, im sure it connot be everyone since people seem to be getting 60 when i look on you-tube and when i ask on the servers.

i mean my pc is pretty good... or so i think.

ps- if you need any more information to possible help me ill be happy to dish it out if i cant get a hold of it.

What also counts is the resolution of your screen. If you have 2560x1440 your setup is pretty bad. With 1920x 1080 its ok but not the best to go. Also the GTX 770 is pretty much outdated. Arma is so ressources hungry but also bad on managing them. Also a full server (lots of objects) will slow down fast as more items to come. Arma is not made for stuff like EXILE or EPOCH where you can build up your base. But i am pretty sure DEVs giving their best to give you the max performance. BTW - the server could be shitty as well. Try a different one :D

We've found that constructions and vehicles kill fps on our server. People leave bikes and carts allover to get out of traders quickly. Originally just bikes were deleted on restart, then we looked at the db and there were over 300 carts! We now scrub carts on restart as well. The server owner needs to monitor/tweak flags per user and constructions per flag. Also how long until unused cars and constructions are deleted.

i run 1080p so nothing much there, but a gtx 770 should be able to run exile at least playable shouldn't it? to add to that an i5 4690k is nothing under powered is it ? what do i need to do to make this bloody game run 60fps smooth no matter what at 1080p ? (new gpu? processor ? hdd? more ram?)  im starting to give up on arma because even tho i have a pretty chill rig and dont mind playing at medium or low settings im still getting "sh*t" fps...

btw: realize that i have mentions how my rig is when it comes to usage next to the parts, its like exile is not using my entire pc;s power if that makes any seance.

it seems that im getting this on quite a few servers, but not all, how is it possible tho that others with similar or weaker rigs run the game better?(on those servers that i cant run smooth) what can i do to make mine run that smooth? 50-60 fps smooth. "second_coming"  low fps for me includes servers with only exile mod running "†RiH† StokesMagee" the fps if i was to concentrate on a specific server is 28 ish fps bumping around a little but 28 is average, my fps rumps like a mad bitch from 15 - 125 ... legitimately.

The biggest gains in Arma are going to be seen in CPU power before gpu. It also doesn't seem to multi thread, so 4 cores with higher Ghz will do better than 6-8 core at lower ghz.

@drifter109 got a gtx 770 (with 4gb ram) and you get at ulta resolutions not really that much - its like 25-35 in highly concentraded areas and up to endless in areas with less objects. this card is not the newest , if you pull down the resolutions a bit it should work fine

server fps will cap your client fps - servers with 30fps , will drop your frames in most zones to 30

i have everything on max accept 1080p res and particles to low, allso 2500 -1500- 50 on the slides controlling view distance  and ok i will look for servers with 60 fps then ? i guess
