ExileServer - MySQL Error: Unable to locate extDB2 extension!

Question

This is driving my nuts! I've tried setting up my private server for hours, wasted my whole day on this and no fix.

I've searched everywhere.

- Restarted my PC.

- Installed the vcredist both 86 and 64 atleast three times.

- My extDB2.dll is in the @exileserver modfolder.

- Set sql-mode to "" in my.ini

- * Unblocked extDB2.dll

* Edited

I have a mysql 5.7 server up and running.

Here is the error:

Spoiler

23:06:24 "ExileServer - Server is loading..."
23:06:24 Client: Nonnetwork object 22bd3a00.
23:06:24 "ExileServer - MySQL connection error!"
23:06:24 "ExileServer - Please have a look at @ExileServer/extDB/logs/ to find out what went wrong."
23:06:24 "ExileServer - MySQL Error: Unable to locate extDB2 extension!"
23:06:24 "ExileServer - Server will shutdown now :("

by the way, there is nothing in \logs\

Even when I put some random values to the ip in the extdb-conf.ini it still gives me the error. please help!

They are using the new version of extDB

And I can assume you are using the tbbmalloc.dll that came with ExileServer 0.9.4?

What they didn't tell you is go download the latest C++ redstributable for visual basic (2015) from here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

I installed both x86bit and x64bit and my problem went away ;)

Ye I already did it and it didn't work (vcredit). W

I simply installed a fresh server using S.'s tutorial - everything is perfect now and I havent run into any trouble ever since!

Right click on extdb.dll > properties > unblock

Thank you, I unblocked it but the problem still continues. I don't know what could be causing this :/

In extdb-conf

set your :

[exile]
Type = MySQL
Name = exile (name your DB)
Username = changeme (name your DB)
Password = (DB Password)
IP = 127.0.0.1 (IP DB)
Port = 3306 (Port DB)

Are you sure it is supposed to be my DB's name? I put it to root with the root password 1234

By the way, the local mysql server I put to this server doesn't have anything in its logs about incoming connections from the server. So the server doesn't even try connecting - the problem occurs beforehand.

Try using the old tbbmalloc.dll from 0.9.35 message me if you dont have the file.

Im embarrassed to say this but when i set up so i can run a dedicated server on my client for some quick testing the other day, i actually forgot to add tbbmalloc.dll to my arma 3 folder all together :$, took me a while to realize =). Threw the exact same error as Sydney got.
