Return Dev-Blog

6 posts in this topic

Why not return the dev-blog back, but let the administrators write there their text, and not as it was before.
This will make it possible to deliver news to players on the server faster so that they do not visit forums, groups and so on.

I think there was a pop up message in lobby i think, Exile Devs would put some certain info in that for every server, i think thats the one he means.

@[OMG]Slim Oh, right!!  Now I understand and that makes much more sense :)

There was a lot of people that wanted the devblog lobby notification feature removed as it was mostly admins that were interested in the info as far as I know. Also, the changes that came with the lobby when Apex was released didn't lend itself to having that notification anymore.

Maybe it could be brought back but there's also a few nice notification scripts on here that can be used to announce things to players if that's of interest.

The dev-blog can be shown only at the first login to the server for restart / after the relog, previously the virgin blog received information from html, which allowed displaying the new information immediately to the player. This would save you from constant forums / twitter / blog checks, just small and short news for everyone!
