It doesn't restart at all, it seems, only when updates are applied. 

Hence why the airport is littered with boxes and boxes and

Fallen trees, destroyed vehicles and tons of supply drops - these are persist until the server restart. I would prefer server restart at least every 2-3 days.

I think 2 -3 hours is probably more appropriate.
