Cannot join almost any server.

Question

Guest Brat

Hello. Yesterday bought the game,downloaded the mod launcher and downloaded exile/ esseker mods.

When I'm trying to join a server,it shows that its loading but in a few seconds it goes to the server list. The servers got a green dot left from them,means I can join them.

Searched the forum,didn't find anything :(

Basically I'm trying to join an exile zombie or any other zombie survival servers(like dayz ) ,only 2 servers let me in.

Any help is welcome.

When you say you "downloaded the mod launcher", do you mean a3launcher? If so, that will download whatever mods you need to join a server. The only reason you'd be booted out while loading is if you don't have all the mods a server has on it.

Try the following:

Start Arma3 until to the point, where you see the dedicated Arma3 Launcher (not the A3 Launcher, you probably downloaded from the interwebs)...

In the Arma3 Launcher, right at the "Mod" tab, you can manually add mods to your Arma3 session. You can even save this mod-setup as preset, so you can startup different configurations for the different Arma3 stuff you like to play.

To join a "Exile Esseker" server, you will need to add the following mods:

@Exile (download on this site)
@AllInArmaTerrains  (download from Armaholics)
@Esseker (download from Steam Workshop or Armaholics)

If you´re mildly comfortable using a computer, you will figure it out. It´s like clicking on a folder icon, browsing to your Arma3 directory and adding the correct directories (as given above)

I personally don't use the A3Launcher, because the official Arma3 Launcher basically does it all for you as well. Accept of downloading the mods.

Here is a guide. It´s a bit outdated, but you´ll figure it out. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=369395296

And hey... feel free to join my server. It has no Zombies, though, as they are bugged and make the server crash due to a Bohemia Memory bug.

Plus the server might run another version of the given mod. Happened a lot to me.

The Official Arma3 Launcher(one from steam) doesnt do anything for you. You have to know what server you want to join and what mods you need to have/turn on, BEFORE you turn on the game? Im really dissapointed Macas launcher has somewhat joined with steam workshop, you have to download all mods again, but still, it shows you the servers including the mods you need and will ask you if you want to download missing mods if it will notice you are missing some.

If you use steam launcher your mods get updated when the launcher is started, so if server admin dont want to update for whatever reason(for example properly fucked update) you cant join.

ALright....Seems its not a lucky day for me.

Installed all the mods that i could.
enabled(added them) to the mod list through A3 launcher.
Launched the game.
Almost every server appears to be RED to me(filter Exile or sandbox)

When trying to join some green ones,1 let me in(was a test,US server 200 ping lul) to the lobby,but i quit obv.
Other servers - clicked join -> Loading - > 2 secs _ ports me back to the server list. Cant load to the lobby,as mentioned on my 1st post.

Had an error CUP_Afghan_Data aswell.

Sigh. Browsing the net,doesnt help me.

:c

You have to have the mods used on server enabled, dont just enable all of them! Here is where A3L is better than steam launcher, just start the game from server list, it will enable JUST the mods you need for the server chosen. With Steam launcher you need to know which mods to turn on to get in game and find a right server.

No no, I'm using A3 launcher. But the way I am doing is - opening the launcher,goin to Mods and enabling them and then starting the game.

So,opening the launcher,and,in the launcher server list I need to just join a server and it auto enables them? Right?

Yes mate, you join a specific server IN Arma 3 Launcher not  IN GAMExD
