[Solved] Reading mission and Arma 3 console close

Going with Rewers on this one. The times that this happens to me are 1) when I forget to spin up the server and 2) Arma has updated but I forgot to update the server itself (errors out a bit differently). Using your post time as a reference, I'd say you're using the latest 1.58 so that leans more toward server. As for the restart, I generally shut the restart monitor down so in case anything borks, I don't have that to deal with.

    Please help

If @mark is the dlc, then it shouldn't it be along the lines of -mod=@Exile;kart;mark;heli (those are the three dlc's as far as I know) and then so on? Unless those file names have been changed by the user to stop autoupdate, maybe?? And wow, that's one hell of a start up string. I throw " "'s around mine for inclusion. Always wrap it, right? Full disclosure, just replying off of @red_ned's reply, have not peeked at the actual report. Best of luck.

    Exile and Safes

All points above, taking leisure of 'In my opinion', are valid and agreeable with exception to preferred play style being forced. At least, not the impression I got at a quick glance and more formal read through after said comment. Unless ones opinion should carry more weight on an informal forum over another's? Universally understanding we are discussing a 'game', one should expect to lose their possessions if they are not secured and properly squirreled away. To me, that's a solid mechanic and well thought out especially in this type of environment. Granted, not for everyone however that's covered with being able to host a server. I'd wager the interest is there so go with it if able. If nothing else, you won't have to deal with the faint of heart and should be running with a more dedicated crowd with said dedication being to the mechanics and not the game. If we're here, dedication to the game/mod is understood. .02

    On Non-Creating Database

The file you are looking for to find that parameter (?) is located in your ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.7 directory and is labeled my(dot)ini; if you have trouble getting the file to save after making the change and if using notepad++, notepad++ may ask if you want to open up a session as an administrator; if so, yes; if not, do so by right clicking notepad++ and running as admin, then open file, make change and save; one last option if that is not available is to change the user settings of my(dot)ini via the properties, security tab, under group or user names, edit, highlight Users (YOURMACHINENAME\Users), check all the boxes under allow, apply, make change to the file, save and revert user settings back in the realm of 'putting things back the way we found them'; that's kind of rushed but read it a couple of times and it'll will hoepfully click; Granted, this is just to get the change mentioned and if that's the culprit. If not, that's all my bag of tricks has at the moment. best of luck

    That A-Ha moment

So here I was, having a time of it trying to add HLC's AK Pack (just love that weapon) and just could not get it to work. A little part of me (tinhat man) was sure some part of the magic formula was not being revealed. To the forums I went and I read and read until I stumbled across a post in regards to adding the class names. Well, no sh**, I did that.....right? Nope. Close, but no cigar. What I was taking as the class name was the title of the pbo minus the pbo. Made sense.....I guess. Now that I knew what I needed, the game was afoot. Using the tools available through Steam, after unpacking the pbo via PBOManager, I unwrapped (??) the bin file, grabbed the class name from the converted bin to cpp (CfgConvert via Steam tools) listed under CfgPathces class hlcweapons_ak (for reference) and there was gold to be had. Now, I do not remember the post nor did I mark it however, that post still gets full credit for that mystery solved. What I'm getting at is thanks to this forum, I have yet to find a server killing error that I could not figure out, period. What this old dog has learned is a boon, and I tip my hat to you all. Even that cranky kid in the corner. Time and patience. Now, I have a pig to add and re-enact a Rambo scene or two. much appreciated, Red

SOLUTION // Setting MYSQL to strict_mode

What finally worked for me was setting the user permission on the .ini file itself. This allowed the change to save. At that point, you can either revert the permissions back or leave them. I went with reverting back since that's how I found it (kind-of-logic). Same steps followed, stop the server, make the change, save and restart the server. I've just recently discovered the mod and set up a server, so the tutorial works. Like a bonehead, I didn't do all the steps the first go around and had issues. Finally installed everything in order (regardless if previously installed) and Bob was my uncle. Well, I really do hav...never mind. And the above works if you are the admin on your machine. If not, and not sure why you would not be, get with the 'admin' and move forward. cheers
