How was it solved ?

so much to do Missions, Zeds, Capture Points, Roaming AI, Heli Crashes ...............

So much to do - missions, heli crashes, zombies, capture points............

I rent my server from Gaming Deluxe - really quick automated set up paying £0.5 per slot per month, cheaper if you pay in advance Great FPS and they host out of the US as well as here in the UK I believe They will also throw in a mumble server and web space for free http://www.gamingdeluxe.co.uk/game-servers/exile-mod Ziggy

BE = Battleye my friend

I had a similar issue which I resolved by ensuring that BE was running as it is the username and PW featured in BE that seems to allow RCON access This worked for me anyway

I have had nothing but positive experiences with GD - during the recent Exile upgrade they advised server owners not to upgrade their servers immediately as there seemed to be a few reported issues and very quickly they provided an amended upgrade file that incorporated the right fixes ... and they respond quickly to questions even my dumbass ones

This is definitely a frustrating time for people that run servers, ours looks more like "the land that time forgot" than a gaming server at the moment. But whilst we waited for the BI update and the now Exile update we realised that we can't change the timeline of these deliverables so we decided to concentrate on some stuff we could control and have kept busy by adding our own slant to Chernarus by including some additional buildings and traders etc and hopefully we can give players a slightly different experience. Keep up the good work Exile team

Hi Trillseeker - thanks for posting this up we have used it to customise billboards on our cserver but the pictures have all turned out blue !! any ideas about how we might have gone wrong ?

BFG do it for the community aspect - our target audience is more mature players who don't have just a 5 second attention span, people who want to build bases and communities whilst having a laugh on TS. We started with the basics on how we would like to play the game so we ground spawn with a weapon and all towns have moderate level zombies to hamper the initial search for loot. After that we have missions designed to keep players occupied and provide "pop tarts" income. In and around this we have some very challenging roaming AI in order to interfere with players plans and to suck pop-tarts out of the game. Its a full pvp server but we like to think that the difficulty level is such that we encourage collaboration. Trouble is that our target market is the rarest to find - we have a base community of between 8-12 players who give us great suppport in terms of time and donations and we're hoping that this will increase but its tough out there - we run Altis only which is a big map for so few players and we have very active admins - new players normally get a "drop-in" visit from an admin or community member when they join - the feedback we have received has invariably been favourable BUT the server is not full so I guess we don't have all the answers yet ..... but we do enjoy what we do Shameless plug (our mission statement is on our forums page at http://www.bfg.rocks ) :-) Great question Tobias, thank you for making me sit down and consider the WHY !! OK noob question can I set up a vote option in my server.cfg file to allow players to vote night or vote day ? if so can someone hook me up with code please cheers Zig www.BFG.ROCKS

Checked out A3 sync - very happy with it thanks for the tip A3 Launcher is not activating Dragonfyre whilst A3 Sync does so it is much better for us.... now if I can only get A3 Sync to auto fire up BE !!

Doesn't A3 launcher tell you what mods you need and then downloads them for you ? A simple message to say use this Launcher would help people no end I imagine

We are running admin by infistar and when ever we spawn in items maybe to assist bambi's etc the items used to spawn on the ground now they default to our backpacks - am I missing something obvious here ie a toggle switch that will let me choose to spawn on the ground ? Also someone on our server who did not have the Heli DLC purchased a DLC heli - the heli appeared with him in it and off he flew - however one he got out of the heli he could not get back in - although this is funny he should not have been able to by the heli in the first palce

We have this working on our server with Zombies spawning in towns as you enter them - we have also combined it with an armed ground spawn entry rather than parachute spawn - some of the zombies you kill have ammo for the guns you spawned with - the mod seems to run very well and reaction to it has been very positive so far - so thanks guys I guarantee the first time you hear a Demon the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up If you want to check it out you can use this link to our server or check out our forums at www.bfg.rocks currently running version 2.6 Ziggy
