Sounds great, very informative blog......... thumbs up from me.

It's default is 10,000, i imagine server admins will ramp that capacity up massively as that is what their user base will demand. I'll wait and see i guess

I don't get the concept idea to be honest. I thought the current pop tabs system was fine by the way so i'm not moaning the the lockers are there just my understanding behind the physical currency was to introduce risk of money loss. The current system your money is safe, the new system was to increase risk as it forced you to carry money round the map. current system you go to traders, buy or sell and the money alters in your virtual bank with zero risk. new system i go to the traders, withdraw from my locker, buy or sell, deposit left over money back in locker all with zero risk. what is the difference in risk factors between old and new systems?

if you are a casual player you probably have friends that play regular, i'm sure they would keep your money in their safe for you

will the new concrete walls and ceilings: 1: snap build to themselves, i.e will a concrete wall snap to a concrete wall and floor? 2: Will the new concrete stuff snap onto the current wood structures?

For me turrets would be better than nothing just not my preferred choice. I prefer players having to protect their own bases over a ai option. Plus ai turrets would either make it no challenge or impossible. When it comes to ai they are either all but impossible or easy once you learn how to take them out. In answer to your question which i hadn't realised was directed at me then no i don't know who the owners of every base on the server are, far from it. I do now the bases of the large groups though who i consider as opposition and these are the only bases i would want to raid. again its about the direction you want to push the game: In my experience of which i have quite a bit the vast majority of base raids occur as retaliations. One group gets an ass kicking so they wait until the group that beat them goes off line then go to their base not for personal gain in terms of server resources but to cause damage in a effort to troll. I am a server admin and i see the effect that this type of thing has which inevitably results in one group being driven from the server. While i think this is quite ridiculous and people should not rage quit because their base gets smashed in the simple fact is they do. I would like to push the game in a direction in which the act of base raiding is not an act of petty retribution nor an act of griefing/trolling. I would like to see it as a planned attack on an enemy in which you actually engage them and you get a large reward fo success in proportion to the difficulty while at the same time hurting your enemy. For me this would fit with the ethos of the game and would be very engaging gameplay.

If there is nothing to oppose you on the server in the way of other players, ai, zombies etc i would disagree in the context of the game exile. I think we will just have to agree to disagree. I want to push the game in the direction of risk reward, the more risk i take, the harder the task the greater the reward. I want it to be more profitable when the server is busy and the risk is higher. You want it to be more profitable when the server is quiet, when it pays to come on when the server is quiet, when the risk is low. we simply have two different opinions on the direction the game should take. Have fun raiding bases when people are asleep or at work though, like i say we all take different things out of the game

In context of exile i disagree. If you are a P v P player like myself you're game play is in pitting yourself against other players. If you're a P v E player then you are pitting yourself against the AI environment, roving AI or missions. granted you can have a game of patience with a deck of cards that doesn't require opposition but we are talking online multiplayer games are we not.

how does raiding someones base when they are offline add to game play? Exile is a PvP game with survival elements, you need an opposition for gameplay surely? Base raiding when people are offline is counter productive to game play. It provides players with a risk free means of accumulating large quantities of high end gear if the contents of the base is accessible. If this gear is not accessible then the only purpose is to smash their shit up without reward to yourself unless you take reward from trolling them. Then only reason you can have for wanting to base raid when people are offline is because you want to do it uncontested. Pretty boring if you ask me but that is just personal opinion. Its a bit like going onto a squash court and banging the ball off the wall and going yeh one point to me when it doesn't come back. Then walking off the court and patting yourself on the back because you won 9-0.

You live in cloud cuckoo land if you think you can build a base that will not be found. I'm not saying you should be able to build a base that can't be found by the way just saying even if you wanted to build one that won't be found you couldn't. Even if your base consists of a door, three walls and roof it will still be found. I come from a Dayz back round and if you conceal a single tent in the woods under a fir tree it still gets found, if you put a tent in a run down barn so it can't be seen unless you go in then it still gets found. That's without having it flash up on your map that you have just entered someones territory .

I think you missed the point of what i am saying. Regardless of how difficult it is the fact remains that if people can steal peoples flags they will no matter how hard or easy it is. The question i am asking is what purpose do the devs have for making this possible, what is the design plan. Just to be clear i like base raiding, i want this to be possible, my preference is that it should only be possible if at least one player has been online during that server rotation. This is because i think you should have to fight to take a base not sit and cycle codes or the likes when people are in bed. This is just my preference i think people have valid arguments for other forms of base raiding as well. If people ask why allow base raiding i think of several reasons, it gives players another way of gathering resources, increases PvP, takes away peoples security and increases their sense of danger etc etc. what i can't think of is what adding the ability to steal their flag once you are in the base brings to the table. No matter how it is implemented or what the consequence is i don't see a positive influence of the act in the game. On face value it just seams a mechanism by which a player can troll another and attempt to drive them from the server. Regardless of the damage they can cause be it minor damage such as they have to pay a fee to get it back or catastrophic damage such as they can replant and dismantle the full base at the moment i can't see any benefit and it will increase the amount of players driven from servers. I am 100% a PvP player, killing people is why i play, I will shoot you onsight be you kitted or a bambi, i will blow you vehicle up just to deny an enemy that resource, i am not in anyway trying to promote PvE. What i do want is people to shoot and i only see this driving more people from servers without giving a positive to PvP. You can't please everyone as we all take different things from the game but if you are going to add something that has a negative impact to those that sit on the PvE side of the fence it should at least have a positive impact to those that sit on the PvP side. With this i see a negative side and a big one for the PvE brigade but i see no positive to me as a PvP player to make that negative worth while. If there is one please feel free to tell me about it. As always i will reserve final judgement until i see how it pans out in game but my gut feeling is it is not a good idea.

I'm not talking about base raiding i am talking about stealing flags. I don't see any positive value in allowing someone to hop on a server, make enough to buy a few satchels, blow a wall, steal the flag and then replant it where it can't be reached so the entire base despawns, or remove all the components and take them away.

lol How in gods name do you conceal a base when people fly around with helicopters and any time you get anywhere near a base it comes up in big letters on a screen that you are now in their territory. On the map i play there are some underground caves, you don't get anymore concealed. i wouldn't know it was there if it din't flash up "The bat Cav" everytime i fly over it. Talk about talking out your arse.

The bit i don't get from the change logs is adding the ability to steal flags. There are many different opinions regarding the difficulty of base raiding and most of them pretty valid regardless of your own personal preference. The only purpose i can see to having the ability to steal flags is to add a super griefing/troll mechanism into the game to drive people away from servers and the game in general. It seams to me a very counter productive thing to add to a game in which you are trying to build a player base. Player or group of players spend a lot of time and effort into building a fantastic base, could be weeks of effort. Random little troll pops onto server, thinks wow look at that, that must have took them some time. He breaks in, steals flag, re-plants in a place it can't be reached, has a giggle to himself knowing the base will despawn. leaves to another server to wreak the same kind of havoc. Why provide tools to spiteful little cunts that like to run down the beach kicking down sand castles

suggestion regarding the new concrete structures.
Sosad replied to Sosad's topic in Constructive Criticism
I agree they probably will add them at some point but as their blog doesn't mention them it would be fair to assume if coming they will arrive in a future patch. My post specifically says to add the stronger floors at the same time they add the walls and not in a future release. For me if that means holding off on the release until you have the stronger floors then so be it. Its better than giving people easy access to a base until however long in the future they might arrive.
