Muss zugeben das ich nach den Problemen mit dem Update erstmal die faxen dicke hatte von Exile... :-D Aber ganz ohne eigenen Server ist das irgendwie auch blöd Da ich ziemlich viel rumprobiert habe, weiß ich gar nicht mehr ich alles probiert hab... Aber ohne DMS und Occupation lief es auch nicht. Aber ich probiers nochmal...

Ok, thanks a lot... I'll give the server a chance running without occupation, but i think I've tried weeks ago and the server still crashed. But I'll try again... I'll report here!

First of all... Thanks for your reply! Which addons are you running on your server, except occupation or a3xai?

After several weeks without Exile, I'll try Arma 3 - Exile on Linux again, hoping something changed in the last months. Had anyone solved the server-crash problem with linux? I hope someone can give me the crucial tip

@Announcement Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn... Dieser Thread und alle von @SpodGamesTV angespochenen Threads drehen sich aber eben NICHT um Windows Server. Ausserdem ist die Aussage 100% Absturzfrei auch bei einem Windows Server falsch, da hier der Absturz beim restart auftritt, welches dann durch abschalten des Windows Error Reportings unterdrückt wird. Zu deiner These mit der Verantwortlichkeit von Serverabstürzen: Man hat einen Exile 1.0.3 Server der ohne jegliche Abstürze funktioniert, macht ein Update auf 1.0.4 und verändert, bis auf die Korrektur einiger 1.0.4 Bugs nichts und der Server stürzt random ab... Daraufhin nimmt man JEDES einzelne Script nacheinander raus und der Server stürzt random ab... Danach installiert man einen neuen Server (behält aber die DB) ohne jegliches Addon und der Server stürzt random ab... Wer ist da jetzt deiner Meinung nach für die Abstürze verantwortlich???? Ich möchte jetzt nicht in deinem Ton anfangen und so Sätze verwenden wie "du bist scheinbar auch nur einer von denen...", aber wir alle die einen LINUX Server verwenden haben durchaus schon einiges probiert um dem Problem auf die schliche zu kommen!

Nutzt du den LGSM oder ähnliche Scripte? Dann kann eigentlich nichts schief gehn. Erstmal nen Backup vom jetzigen Serververzeichnis machen, Update via Script, und dann schauen ob so Dinge wie die server.cfg noch die alten sind. Aber normalerweise passiert da nix. Und selbst wenn, du hast ja ein Backup

Das Problem mit glitchenden Fahrzeugen konnte ich noch nicht feststellen. Mittlerweile habe ich es aufgegeben eine Lösung zu finden, denn in 8 Tagen kommt das nächste ArmA Update inkl. Tanks DLC... Mal schauen was da generell wieder aus dem Ruder läuft. Vielleicht bringt es für Linux ja eine Verbesserung, vielleicht bleibt es wie es ist (was (für mich) nicht tragbar ist) oder es geht gar nichts mehr (wäre ja auch nicht das erste mal). Wenn es keine Verbesserung bringt, dann bin ich wohl durch mit einem eigenen Exile Server. Ein ständig abstürzender Server ohne Spieler, die verständlicherweise weg bleiben, bringt mir, ausser Arbeit und Ressourcenverbrauch, gar nichts.

Already tested last week. Dwardens perf-builds didn't help with this linux problem... Unfortunately!

Gleiche Erfahrung hab ich auch gemacht. Läuft prima! Wenn sich Fahrzeuge regelmäsig unwillkürlich lösen haben entweder Client oder Server (oder beide) ein massives desync Problem.

And everyone needs free time for friends, family or for it's own. And I'm very thankful that this project is going on... But when there's no time to look after issues when releasing a big update, I've to delay it. It's like Bohemia doing updates on a friday, an hour bevor leaving into the weekend... It seems the update was nailed together as quick as possible to release it, so the first hotfix was needed a few hours later...

Well... I've tried a lot to solve these issue... My experience in hosting arma on linux is quit different. First we had a normal ArmA coop server (liberation) that had no issues over the time... Then we switched to exile and with the exeption of some bohemia arma updates, our exile server on linux runs quit well. scaling and performing very good, and the only crashes depended on an stupid admin (me) . Exile 1.0.3 runs very stable, in 6h turns, for a year. Now with 1.0.4a it changed to an unstable server, loosing players, who where fucked up from loosing gear, vehicles, money,... I'm quite disappointed that the main developers last visit here was a day after publishing the update... An update with a lot of little bugs, not quite well tested sql statements, typo, etc... postscript: then u go to discord and telling about your problem... you got answers like "switch to linux" oder "PEBCAK"... Windows guys get the same issue at #restart or #shutdown... Disabling the windows error reporting is not solving the issue...

@NoFocksGiven I don't think it's a Bohemia related issue, because with exile 1.0.3 the server had no crash. Something must be different in the new exile version. But without a developer who can look into it, there is imho no way to fix it. Made the additions to the mission file... Now it's time to wait if the server is crashing again. Maybe the changes helps. The "smart alecks" are not adressed to you personaly... Is only the experience I made... especially in the discord. Normally a user reads a thread from the beginning... Ok, I can quote a requoted quote that is requoted and so on... doesn't make the posting clear. I posted my issue, log included, hardware specs included, OS specs included... never mind... Oh, you are 18 years into game server hosting... so what? Must I knee in front of you? You don't know anything about me and my experiences or skills. I had one fully functional exile server bevor the update. With exile 1.0.4 I've still no errors in the server rpt or the extDB log and the server crashed randomly allways after the same log entry... But you can read the full story serveral posts bevor... Allways telling the same story to everyone I ask is wasting time! The only reason for your posting was to show me I was wrong about the memory manager, not knowing what I'm talking about... That's my fault? Ok... When you think so... Then it is!

You have still a problem with your DMS... Which version are you using? Latest one from github?

I'll try after work and give a feedback in this thread... i'll also have a look in my 1.0.3 mission file if it's different to the actual one... Thanks for your support anyway! Postscript: Windows based server only have a problem on #shutdown or #restart... But server stops mostly at deinitializing the soldier_vr class, too
