Several of our players keep getting randomly kicked from our server since the Apex/Potato update. Only common denominator that we can figure out is these players have not purchased Apex as of yet. The kicks are very random and sometimes they can play for several hours, other times only a few minutes at most. The signature files they get kicked for vary from time to time. I personally have been kicked numerous times and have redownloaded my addons, redownloaded Exile, redownloaded the base game of ARMA 3 (yes and Steam Verified the game). This tends to resolve the issue only temporarily at best. It happens regardless of what's around me on the map, what gear I have or how long I'm on the server. I've even downloaded the signature files directly from the server and used them with no success. It appears to be client side and not server side as this issue happens to me on other servers. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this on their servers. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

Does this permanently fix it? Or just temporarily? The only reason I ask is because I've created brand new profiles on ARMA (after Apex/Potato update) and all of them are getting the signature kick regardless of which one I play. None of those profiles are copied off of the main one and are NEW profiles. -

Exactly, I want to avoid turning it off if I can. It's possible the Exile server I joined had it turned off, I didn't see anyone get signature kicked while I was in it. I my try that tonight though. Just don't like opening the server up to malicious activity because of a bug/issue. Thanks for the input! -

So it seems to be an Exile or Server side issue now. Today I decided to try playing some KOTH and spent about 45 minutes in a server with no issues. Right after I had been kicked from my Exile server. Then I tried joining another Exile server running the same set up (no mods except for Exile) and I was able to play for a good 20 minutes with no issue. Connected back to my server and kicked within 2 minutes. It could just be a fluke with timing and such. But it's hard to believe that it's the server side when it affects the same players each time and no new players. I've deleted entirely myself from the DB for a different issue earlier this week so I don't believe it's a DB issue. It's just... odd -

Hmm... it may not be related to Apex, but it definitely is a bug from that update. Only reason I have a theory for purchasing Apex might fix it is because everyone on my server with Apex doesn't seem to have an issue. Thanks for that info though! I'll save my $$$ for other stuff. -

Sounds exactly what's going on in our server. Sometimes it works for a couple days, other times it doesn't. I've deleted ALL of my Bisign files in my Addons folder, my Heli folder, my Mark folder and my Kart folder. Game then works. Fast forward to a couple days later and wash, rinse and repeat the mass deletion and re-verification to get it working again. I've seen a couple threads on Bohemia's forums about it and it seems like everyone is about at the same point. I don't really wanna shell out $35 for Apex to see if that fixes it. Hoping Bohemia isn't going to ignore this and will be pushing a hotfix out for it soon, although it's been two weeks and I'm not a fan of re-downloading 1/3 of my game every time I want to play on my server ::facepalm:: -

We'd like to add a vehicle to our map that is being pushed serverside without the use of a mod. Main reason is to avoid having a full @mod folder for just one vehicle. There are other assets we may do with this if we can get the vehicle working. I understand the simple way is to just add the vehicle in an @mod folder and require the Client to download the mod on their own, however we are trying to limit the amount of mods required to join the server. Here is the vehicle we are trying to add. <<http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=22594>> It's a 2 seater F-18 Multirole fighter. My basic understanding is that this vehicle will need to be packed into the mission file under mpmissions/Exile.Altis.pbo. What I'm not sure on, is where I will need to place the Calls in order to have it be recognized as an asset on the server. Any help would be greatly appreciated!- 5 replies

I understand how the @mod folder works. However there are some assets that get pushed to the client via the mission file and are then called using config files. I'm just querying to see if anyone has actually tried this with a vehicle (or building). And if they have, where they might be setting up the calls for the asset.- 5 replies

Thank you for the response. Forgot to close the thread and say I was able to fix the problem. It was indeed my extdb-conf.ini file that reverted back to a blank state after updating. Not sure how WinMerge missed it. Thanks!

Having an issue after updating to Potato. Basically what the title says. Every time a player tries to pull up the GPS using Rctrl+M they get kicked for a Script Restriction #0. I've added in the exception from scripts.log to line #0 of scripts.txt. That does not solve the issue and there is no change in the log. Even tried adding it to line #2 of scripts.txt as one person suggested. Here's the code from the log. Is there somewhere else I need to add this exception? "100; _ctrlMap = _display displayctrl 101; _ctrlMap ctrladdeventhandler [ "draw", format [ " with uinamespace do { " I should also point out that I've added it to scripts.txt using the bfe.marma.io filter tool as well as manually adding the exception to scripts.txt with no change. Any help would be much appreciated!

That's exactly where we stopped. Tried adding the exception to the end of the line, tried adding it to the front of the line. Nothing. We'd been working on the issue for the past 2-3 days and decided we would rather be playing then fixing one fairly persistent issue that isn't a huge gamebreaker... although I do miss my GPS :'(- 33 replies

Well we spent a couple hours playing whack-a-mole with the various BE kicks that would pop up. But eventually it got to a point where we got frustrated enough with it to just take the GPS off the loot table/trader list. We will probably take another crack at it later down the road. I usually manually stop the server and then wait a minute or two and then start it so I know it's truly shutting down and restarting. The log file shows the exact same kick every time for pulling up the GPS with Rctrl+M regardless of which player does it. It's definitely scripts.log from the BE folder. I've got about a dozen or so other BE kicks in the log that I've successfully added exceptions for in the scripts.txt folder. My buddy who's more familiar with some of the language was also working on this earlier and we were hitting a roadblock as well, hence the forum post. I really appreciate you helping us out but yeah. I got nothing. I've added the exception and yet it still chooses to kick for #0. I really am starting to see why people tend to dislike BE haha- 33 replies
