But what does it actually do and could we get a picture, if possible, so we can see how to use it to the best of our abilities.

It's all very well getting your files 'obfuscated' but how are you gonna be able to 'de-obfuscate' them? I think that this is just a major problem for someone waiting to happen.

Clean 1.0.0 "Potato" download (ul.to)
Capt Caveman replied to cr4zyiv4n's topic in General Discussion
shame it will be limited to 10 GB bandwidth per month then use at your own peril. -
I agree, it would stop all the errors and all the pulling of hair, gnashing of teeth and oh, the wailing....8-(
-
the only thing I can see is that you keep refering to 'Tonoa', line 668, instead of 'Tanoa', first example of correct spelling is at line 242, but then again I have very limited knowledge of this otherwise.

try changing your gamma value...move it up to around 1.2 and you should be good to go.

Cool map but I've noticed a couple of issues, mainly loot being spawned out of position, see pic 2 sets of loot, both off the ground, one higher than the other. Now I know this is only a Dev version but I just thought I'd bring it to the fore....that and the disappearing map makers which I'm sure we all suffered at some point.

Welcome to those that are LOST.....

I agree...looks damned pretty....although an extreme lack of Military assets...looking forward to Exile Tanoa

I think you might have the idea of 'whitelisting' confused... Whitelist - allow place on server regardless of empty spots. Blacklist - refuse place on server.
-
i agree, there should be some way of hiding your 'home sweet home' that doesnt have the doors or roof on...
-
or walk into nearby water, zombies or even ai? I think the idea of a 'penalty system' is a damned good idea...either cost poptabs, extend time for every respawn if under x time or lock them to specific spawn points and remove 1 or 2 points every time the die within x time...
-
And I find this equally appropriate...

I still feel that there is something waiting to go wrong....the words 'eggs' and 'baskets' comes to mind.

who better to stop a thief than a thief?
-
Surely that would only apply IF you was found out? but mainly I think this is a very cool idea especially as this could ultimatly lead to further sharing of SELECT information and possibly eradicate hackers and other cheats...Good Luck.

Gaming Deluxe is a very touchy beast at the best of times, their control panel is very handy however, the way they set everything to work is very haphazard and against the normal run of operations....So the only information I can give to someone willing to learn through their own mistakes is ' Persistence is a wonderful trait, however make sure you make lots of copies of everything...Backup...Backup...Backup' oh and Good Luck.

Cars in Safe Zones - Should all be lockable?
Capt Caveman replied to Bjornadal's topic in Constructive Criticism
Whilst I did in fact state the above, I believe that spawned in vehicles shouldn't be lockable and as quoted by BarryBlack and Excaliber_47, those should never be lockable or secured in anyway, and are only on the server for selling or for moving from one place to another, however any society, especially criminal, would find some way of securing them, hence being able to buy a lockable vehicle, and as is now enabled in the new Exile version, to be able to break into them. However, all societies, be it criminal or not, will always have a certain agreement in place so that places like the Safezones would exist, even today in our 'comfortable and law abiding society' these places exist, such as the renown and, relatively, famous Thieves Market in Singapore and the Feira da Ladra in Lisbon. -
Personally, I believe this topic is being slowly and inexorably off topic. So this will be my attempt to bring it back on track whilst the initial subject for this post was Eichi stating why they (the Devs) were working on Namalsk so much ie- ' I personally agree that our current change logs contain many Namalsk related things and might be misleading. The reasons why we have spent so much time and energy into Namalsk are the following: Altis is a vacation island and way too big, yet being our only "official" map. We do not like the sunshine, the mediterrian climate. It simply does not fit the dirty and rough criminal story that Exile follows. Namalsk is tiny. Altis is too large. It takes hours to run around on Altis to meet someone. Players were hording in Pyrgos just to get some frags. You will always and everywhere face enemies on Namalsk. PvP is literally everywhere! Due to the size of Namalsk you will probably only host servers with a maximum of 40 slots. Meaning you could increase the construction parts limit as there are not so many bases as on larger maps. Everybody loves building, but not if the server performance dies because of it. Namalsk had a creepy background story in Arma 2. It was perfect to implement more survival aspects into Exile. All the new environmental and survival aspects you see in the changelogs are not a part of the Namalsk map. We have programmed them into Exile, meaning Chernarus Winter or Taviana servers can have breathing and snow, Lower Esseker could become a contaminated zone or whatever you feel is cool. We have spent eight to fifteen hours per person per day for nine months on Exile exclusively. It was (is) literally our life! Working on a map was completely new for us. It was refreshing for us to do something different and new, but still it was pro-Exile.' Now me personally believe that United Sahrani is the perfect size, it has rolling dunes in the Southern Desert, Mountain views that would challenge the Alps in the North East and a lovely temperate zone in the middle with lots of small towns and villages. It also has some very nice but varied Islands spotted all around the coast.

First and foremost, Do you have the server up and running now? What sort of player base do you have? What will your server actually run? ie Exile on Cherno with CUP Weps, and so on (you know what I mean). and finally, What resources do you have in place at the min, ie machine/server spec, server network speeds and throughput.
-
I'll continue by stating the exact requirements- I, being myself and no-one else, would like a plain, unadulterated United Sahrani, running only and nothing else than Exile, for no other reason than to be able to run a very simple LAN server, for the use of just himself and 3 friends. This would not be used in anyway for an open or online server. The 'problems' of running a small and very simple database, including all other programs, scripts and other such items would be accomplished by myself. If you won't, or don't wish to, help me, and by me I mean my son and his three friends, then so be it. I only asked in the name of helpfulness, generally pro-offered by this community and, in the whole, given by most. However, if you do wish to help out my son and his friends by supplying a very simple mission .pbo then I, my son and his friends would gratefully accept such help and would undoubtedly be most thankful.

This is for my lad who wants to play with his mates in a closed lan on this map as he used to play it on the original Armed Assault, ufortunately every time i try to get it running it just keeps trying to read from mission file...could you just make it so simple as a mission.pbo...with exact written steps to take please. I and my son would appreciate this and would gratefully come and clean your lavatory, gutters and any other dirty jobs 8-))
