    Tanoa vs. Chernaurs

I really appreciate the input guys, it really helps! Probably gonna go with Chernarus, just sounds like the best option for what I want to achieve. Esseker is just not filled in enough, I absolutely adore the aesthetic of that map, but the whole south of the map is just roads (I know I can add stuff in, but god damn) and it's just not quite there yet. Also, @BetterDeadThanZed brought up the point of Tanoa being too clean and I agree with that. @Riker2335 you brought up a point I started thinking about as well, Tanoa can be a little too big and spread out. On Chernarus there is a semi-centralized area that every can head to where as all of the military areas on Tanoa are spread out from each other and it encourages too much PvP. Really trying to go with forcing a playstyle where players feel attached to their gear and take fewer risks. Again, I really appreciate everyone's input, keep an eye out on the forums for updates on my project if you're interested.

    Tanoa vs. Chernaurs

Hey guys, I am working on a personal project trying to make a hardcore horror survival of sorts (zombies, possible anomalies, very DayZ mod feeling). At the moment I am at a loss on whether to continue my work on Chernarus or move to the newer Tanoa. The only issue I see with it as a map is it is a little lacking on military outposts which can be fixed. It has more enterable buildings, more surface area, and it's much prettier in my opinion. But I will always have that unconditional love and feeling of nostalgia on Chernarus. When I look at player counts, Chernarus is always the top played map for Exile. My question is to those who prefer Chernarus; What do you like about Chernarus? The overall look and feel, layout, nostalgia? And why you don't like Tanoa? Is it the Paywall for the map, don't like jungles, no military locations, too laggy? Doesn't really matter to me at the moment, but I was curious about why Tanoa lacks in player count and I am looking for something to make my decision on what map to put work into.

    Stats Refreshing on Relog

What's going on guys, So while constructing my server, I've noticed that every time I log off and back on my stats refresh (Hunger and thirst and health). When I looked it up people were saying that the server needs time to save those stats. However, I allowed the database 20 minutes to save the data, but when I logged back on, my stats were refreshed again. Anyone experienced this issue and found a fix? Don't know if my host has anything to do with it, I'm currently using SurvivalSevers. Thanks in advanced!

How to make your server work after update.

Updating steam is not what you want to do. I had a server through VertHosting and to update you need to go to "mods" and install exile. I think Vilayer has a option for updating, but your Arma III should be up to date, therefore you should not have to use "Steam Update".

    Linux Server Installation Guide

That was the issue, thanks! I figured it was a client side issue as nothing popped up in the server console.

    Linux Server Installation Guide

The server seems to start fine, but when I try to join it stops at a loading screen that says "Virtual Reality". Do you think is related to the missing lib?

    Linux Server Installation Guide

Great guide but I have seem to of run into a speed bump. I am running on Debian 7 and I was missing the "libtbbmalloc.so.2" so I followed the steps to installing that file and it seems to of not worked. This is what I get when I run apt-get install libc6 tmux lib32gcc1 libtbb2 lib32gcc1 lib32stdc++6 libtbb2:i386It seems to get caught up on "libtbb2:i386" as when I remove that part it installs fine. Thanks in advanced.

    Another "Receiving Server Version..." Issue

Thanks for the detailed responses. I am currently working on another project at the moment. I will test these things later today and will post results here.
  9. Hello, I am trying to get a Exile server running on my Debian 7 dedicated machine and I have run into some speed bumps. My first issue was with MySQL being in strict mode, I turned it off, then came another error, asking me to edit the config.bin, easy enough. Now I am stuck at "Receiving Server Version as I try to load in." I have tried troubleshooting on my own and all potential answers are on the old forums and I cannot access them. I will provide information here as I can, but if you need anything from me don't hesitate to ask. Start Log: Start .sh File: Thanks in advanced!
