    Is this an Exile issue or Arma? Seems like it's always the Hellcat that eats gas extremely fast. If I recall correctly you can just sit in the pilots seat and not even have the engine turned on and you can watch the gas deplete. Also the server has the CUP vehicles and the Huey is available. Got it just to find out it has the exact same issue.. Eats gas like crazy. What's the deal?

    Yea. I gave up on the Hellcat.. Probably an Arma issue and not a mod. When I did use it I did have a bunch of jerry cans in it. It's been like that for a long time. Even right off purchasing it you can sit in the pilot seat and the engine isn't even running and you can watch the fuel dissipate. On a side note.. Is this mod still being worked on? I was thinking that the new concrete building is great but it would be nice if it could be painted.

    You know the hellcat is bugged when you can sit in it with the engine completely off and it's still consuming fuel.
  4. Thanks for the reply and advice. Yes. I've verified and re-verified on my end. Even just re-dl'd the entire mod just to be sure and/or rule that out. Checked Arma3 files also. I'll pass this on and see what their thoughts are on it as well since I put a note on their forum inquiring about it.
  5. I haven't played Exile in a long time.. Probably 6 months. Is this "You been kicked from the game" a known issue or would it be a server issue? Noticing myself as well as others are getting the boots at random times.
  6. Does anyone have anything more creative you can do with base building in Exile? Getting bored of simple box type building mechanics. Looked around Youtube and not really seeing anything. I miss vector building that snap building pro introduces in Arma2.
  7. That's great that YOU are ok with it and see some sort of benefit from the way they set it up. I can only hope there are a lot of players who agree with you after they spend a lot of time putting up a base to have it completely gone in an instant rather than just some of the pieces of it. Regardless.. out of all I said the point being.. the mods building despawn mechanics are very unforgiving for player who miss going to the trader to pay their protection by even one server restart cycle and compared it to other mods that this feature was a lot more forgiving to use as an example.. Not to curb them to do it THAT way rather moreso a comparison to how they did it and how Exile is doing it. My post was focused on one thing.. the building aspects and how this mod handles them using how other mods handled them as a comparison.. nothing more.. nothing less.
  8. Here is the prob with this mod currently and the main reason I stopped playing a while back. I've put in many hours in the main mods in both A2 and A3. As good as Exile is in some areas it's not good when it comes to how it handles building which is a big time-consuming task. Some mods have a health meter on each individual building component and the main plot pole had a much longer life time than even the individual building components (possibly a month by default). So if you missed your renewal by a few days you can log in and you would only have to rebuild a portion of your base that you spent many hours to put up. The way Exile does it.. It's all gone at one instance when you don't pay. Unsure why it was done in that fashion can only speculate it was considered less information to keep track of in the database. I've lost enough bases and gear because I was away on travel since I'm a casual player that I had lost interest in repeating that process. Paying protection at your base should also be considered as that aspect is another inconvenience when you have to gear your items at your base then travel to a trader to pay to keep your base.

    Add codelock to any house?

    I'd sure love to see some focus on expanding the building aspects of this mod cuz it's currently very limited in respect of the building. Even the servers I've messed around on have to rely on DP and Extended Exile building addons to spice it up to attract players. The mod had a great start and I get the feeling it's come to a crawl lately, specifically in this respect. We got all these things like sandbags and tools and tires that are just sitting in the loot tables doing nothing but occupying space in a database.

    Again about Taviana

    It comes down to the fact that Origins is a closed source mod so anything made for it is included.. Tav map. Martin doesn't do anything for free for the community. Give up on Tav and go play other maps that map makers are welcoming free open source mods to use. There are many to choose from. Origins mod is miles behind everyone else.. By the time they get on A3, A4 will be out. lol He will probably charge any mod that wants to use that map a rental fee to suck continual revenue out of them is my guess which in the end will let it sit and collect dust. Namalsk is ok and the Exile team did some great work on it. I'm not a big fan of the map as it lacks color and is a bit limiting on variations. It has it's chopped up wood forest and snowy peaks and that's about it. I do look forward to them continueing that sort of work on another map.. I feel Napf would be a hit for Exile and it would be epic if they made a few variations of the map to reflect season like summer/winter/spring/fall with weather changes in those seasons. Regardless the Exile team is doing great work and I appreciate every second they put into the mod! My 2 bitts.

    UAZ and pink lights

    Isn't that CUP vehicles? Some of the CUP vehicles are bugged.. Humvee's will be flipped sideways randomly at restarts. Not saying that CUP vehicle is bugged.. I thought that UAZ is a CUP vehicle.

    New map to exile!?

    You know what would be cool... If Thirsk had two maps.. One map in the style of Winter and One map in the style of Summer. That way servers could actually run one map for winter months and switch to the summer map in the summer months that can coincide with the season in real life. Or even take it one step further and have a fall and spring maps as well. That would be pretty cool I think. Heck any map that would be cool in.... Was liking Taviana till Martin got it yanked so the server changed to Namalsk.. Not liking Namalsk.. boring map with little variety. Hoping the are going to Napf cuz I really liked that map in A2.

    Creative base building in Exile

    Tried the DP objects. They are great an all though they do not work well with Exile objects. ie: Made a base out of wood then took out a wall and snug up a castle tower to the opening, at restart the castle tower moved causing a gap. Did the same thing next restart when re-positioned back to remove the gap. Possibly an issue with positioning values being changed (rounding up or down) at server restarts and/or in relation to Exile objects.. but i'm not sure. Who knows though.. maybe I did something wrong. I didn't snap it. I just snugged it right up to the wood walls so there were zero gaps.

    What happened to Taviana?

    Desolation has miles to go and it'll be interesting how it performs when you put in building objects and players start placing them. Servers gonna choke badly I suspect. With A3's graphic enhancements I see that many have not bothered with zeds. I feel it can't handle it
  15. You just have to wait for the vehicle to despawn and then the body will appear from my undertsanding. That's how it is when a chopper is downed and your body is inside it.

    Reconsider Keys and Locking!!!

    In A2 when they had keys your body didn't despawn in 15 or 30 minutes. It was there until the server restarted if I recall correctly or it was there a lot longer than it is now. You need to keep that in mind when thinking keys will work in this mod. Personally they should do something about the money situation. Players run around with zero care in the world because they will never lose their money and to me this mod is way to easy to accumulate money. Once you have enough you don't even care to go back to your body.. You just go re-buy all your gear and don't even blow a grand.

    Base roofs should be fortified

    Essentially two things would be nice to have in this mod at some point in time. 1. Enforced wooden floor's 2. Snap building pro or something similar to it that can allow vector building. I do recall them having a bag of cement in one of the recent log changes so I suspect we are going to be able to fortify something with cement at some point. I hope they get something in the game soon.. Seems to have come to a crawl in changes unless they got some big things coming and are holding off for a big patch. The only problem I have with very big patches is it just introduces more opportunities for more bugs. My recommendation would be more frequent smaller patches instead of big patches. It's easier to centralize and resolve issues with less going into the game but whatever floats their boat. They will have to deal with their mistakes one way or another in the end. Regardless looking forward to something.

    Namalsk Server

    I'll get it when it's ready however I've never played on the map and I'll just temporarily get the one available to get on and muck around. In the end of the day I'll end up with the polished map from these guys cuz I know it will be exactly that.. polished. Alaska looks interesting but at that size they developed it in its only a portion of the state? 10km x 10km?

    boarding up instead of base building

    After reading some of the posts to better reveal the idea presented I gotta say that is a cool Idea. It would force players to use existing buildings as bases which would keep the database size down YET players would have buildings to store items. And I think the lock-pick idea is a great addition that brings realism of having to break into a base instead of blowing up walls. The only thing I would say is to remove satchels and any other bombs from the loot table that would take down a in-game building pretty easily. Regardless it brings a unique feature to a server in the mod which I see as a good thing.

    I could of swore I saw it on the Launcher a bit ago but now it's not there anymore. I see other maps though. I personally think it's awesome these guys can squeeze in the time to extend their support to maps and also do some tweaking on them. They doing that in other mods? NOPE
  21. The chopping animation gonna get tweaked up in an update down the road? I know you guys removed it cuz it looked funny but now it's sort of weird or maybe our characters are kungfu choppers that chop so fast you don't even see them move

    Please someone answer my question

    The server that he had custom done would be a lag-fest if it had more than 5 people playing on it from my understanding. It was cool and all but it was probably on a dedicated box locked down for a small number of players. The guys who did it as mentioned above are very skilled at modding so I'm sure they took a bit to tweak it up and customize it however it had a lot of mods on it and customization. If I recall correctly that video had a pretty cool medic addon for healing but maybe it was a different vid of his.

    Shame it's a small map.. I thought it was a bit bigger but it's puny. Seems like people are either making massive maps like Australia or puny maps like this one or Esseker but nothing in-between. Even that new map from BI coming out sometime this year is beyond puny. But it's nice to have options. Doesn't do good for overall popularity to be too small but to each iz own. And yea.. it's now on A3 Lercher as a seperate download.

    Bored with Exile...

    Yea.. they seriously need to do something with this mod to make it so the end-game is not reached as quickly and easily. I feel like the mod should be called EasyXILE cuz that's the overall feeling I get. I know the zed thing has been done already but what it did introduce is another element of threatening your characters existence. The sad thing people may not be realizing is..... If you are not going with zeds then you basically removed that element from this so called "survival" platform and have not replaced it with anything else. SO.. you now have created Battlefied with the ability to make a base AND if you are not playing on a highly populated server then there is very little threat to your existence. This is why A2 is still strong and well even today.
