    Exile Fatique

In general, I am a huge fan of the stamina system and mechanics when playing co-op or even Wasteland PvP. However, for survival mods, particularly on Altis, when you may need to run for 4+ km to get back to your buddies/body/base it would be a huge pain in the ass.

    Bored with Exile...

We're running off a dedicated box, so we aren't going anywhere
  3. Hey Chris, Amazing work. We're having an issue since the latest update . It seems since you change the config file from an sqf to an hpp, there is an issue in the way it's checking if settings are correct on init. Your scripts are checking to see if the serverCommandPassword matches the _serverCommandPassword variable in the sqf...which no longer exists. Did I set something up incorrectly that it's calling the wrong variable? It's spitting back this in the rpt file: 21:03:35 "<infiSTAR.de> 0 - serverCommandPassword NOT SET! [email protected] - 14012016-(v0027A) - Fighting 13th | Server Maintenance | Please Stand By - ["Arma 3","Arma3",154,133596,"Stable",true,"Windows"]" 21:03:35 "<infiSTAR.de> 0 - serverCommandPassword is defined in your servers config.cfg" 21:03:35 "<infiSTAR.de> 0 - serverCommandPassword has to be set it in EXILE_AHAT_CONFIG.sqf where it says _serverCommandPassword = "changeme";" 21:03:35 "<infiSTAR.de> 0 - infiSTAR will not START if passwords are not set properly!" The config files are 100% changed correctly to match the server settings. I checked. Like 100 times. Thanks dude.

    Bored with Exile...

I think this discussion goes back to how individual people PERCEIVE what Exile is meant to be. Some may be perceiving the game to be more of a hardcore survival mod, like hardcore DayZ servers with minimal loot that require you to grind and grind for days on fucking end to come up with some good loot. Others, like myself, my perceive the game to be a way more casual version of that type of experience. As a server admin myself, I have no desire to lower the loot spawn values and have my server population search buildings for hours to find a baseball cap and a shitty backpack. I want people to be shooting each other. I want people to spawn in, gear up, and not be so afraid to go outside or to try to take on missions because they are too scared to loose their shit and have to start at the beginning running through empty houses for fucking hours to find a baseball cap and a shitty backpack. I want people out there killing each other, blowing up their vehicles, going after missions, getting shot in the face, and coming right back for more. I've always seen it more as a variant to Wasteland with the survival aspect added on top. I'm not saying that what you are looking for is "wrong" necessarily, and my vision is "right." I think you just need to realize that different server admins, and different groups of players, have different expectations and visions for the various survival mods out there. Different strokes for different folks, and all that jazz. As an example, I would never put zombies on my server because a) I'm sick of fucking zombie survival mods and b) it does not fit MY PERSONAL vision for what Exile mod is supposed to be. However, I'm not going to knock another server, or server admin, or server population for their desire to utilize those elements. I think the beauty of this mod, and the beauty of this community, is that there are servers out there that cater to all types of people: hardcore survivalists, casual PvPers, and Zombie humpers.
  5. Sorry forgot to post last night. Redid the installation with the latest update and everything works perfectly as usual. I have no idea what the issue with my previous attempt was, but let's just chalk it up to user error . Thanks for taking the time to help out and for your continued efforts!
  6. Nope. Everything SHOULD be set properly. Let me try running through it one more time this evening, just to be sure I'm not making some stupid mistake (which is not unlikely). If I still have the issue, I'll be happy to shoot you those files via PM. Thanks for your time.
  7. No this is running on a dedicated box through NFO Servers I don't have the .sqf file anymore, I've completely replaced the @infistar_Exile folder with the new version after modifying the necessary files. I can not, for the life of me, figure out what the issue is here. I've been using your mod tools for months with absolutely no issues. The EXILE_AH.sqf file on lines 47, 48, 49, 53, and 58 still references the variable _serverCommandPassword. But hasn't that variable been replaced with just serverCommandPassword in the new .hpp file? Forgive me if this is not relevant, but it seems this script is verifying the value of the variable, but the variable does not exist. I'm gonna try it again tonight from scratch with the latest update you released today.
  8. Thanks man, but I got that part. The problem seems to be that, as the error says, its checking for: _serverCommandPassword in EXILE_AHAT_CONFIG.sqf When the latest update changed those to serverCommandPassword (no underscore) in EXILE_AHAT_CONFIG.hpp the sqf file and the variable defined with an underscore no longer exist in this update. The variables should be set properly in the .hpp file and match those set in the config.cfg.

    Refueling on Esseker

Hey all, Can anyone provide some insight on how you are handling refueling on Esseker? I believe there are a few (not many) gas stations around the map. Does anyone know where the refuel script is located in the Exile files? Has anyone had any luck porting this over to the gas stations on Esseker? Thanks.
  13. We are back up and running with 0.9.40!! Come check out our sever and our community!!

    Modify Wall Health???

Is there a way to modify the health/hit points of base walls? I'm a fan of destructible bases (to each their own). Someone just reported to me that on my server it takes 5 satchel charges to destroy one wood wall. That's the equivalent to 5000 tabs!! For one wood wall!! If someone has some idea, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to reduce it to like 2 charges for a wood wall and 3 or 4 for a reinforced wall. Thanks!

    Helicopters explode when bought

Yes. As I mentioned, I have that disabled, and I'm still getting reports of this happening.

    Helicopters explode when bought

I disabled the InfiSTAR anti teleport and users are still reporting some helicopters spawning on top of the trader and exploding on purchase.
  18. Looking for a great community or just an awesome place to play Exile?? Check us out and stop by our server. Server events planned for the weekend.

    Helicopters explode when bought

This has been happening on my server as well lately. The majority of helicopters spawn fine, but every so often someone buys one that spawns directly on top of the trader and explodes. Happened twice last night.

    DMS - Defent's Mission System

Hmmmm, interesting. Thanks for the response Eraser. The _difficulty seems a little unnecessary/purely cosmetic then. e.g. A mission could be marked with an easy marker, and all the AI could roll moderate difficulty if set to random. Anyway, good to know. I've been setting the group difficulty to match the _difficulty setting anyway since I was not sure how it works. Thanks again.

    DMS - Defent's Mission System

Sorry if this is a dumb question, or has already been discussed. What is the difference between setting the "_difficulty" variable and setting the difficulty under the _group parameters? If _difficulty = "moderate", what happens if the _group difficulty is set to "random"? Keep up the good work. We really enjoy your addon.

Are High Loot servers really High Loot?

We have actually increased the loot that spawns, and also increased the amount of mission loot that drops. However, as kind of a balance, we are adjusting the sale price of items. Currently everything sells for a quarter of the purchase price (default is half). I understand people who say it's too easy to make cash on some servers (which is why we put in the fix), but it's also absolutely no fun to be running around as a Bambi for 30 minutes and not finding jack shit. I would rather people find loot quickly, gear up, and get to PvPing, rather than running around empty buildings and getting frustrated. Personal preference obviously.
  23. Come check us out! We just had a very highly populated weekend on our Exile server! We have numerous weekly co-op events as well! Come be a part of an awesome international community.

  25. Does this script still work? Do you need to replace "ConstructionTraderZoneWarning" etc. with the actual text you would like to appear?
