Hi All, Starting to give up regarding server crashes. It's a shame to see our server, which has started to get really popular, crashing and losing players. I've attached an RPT from our latest crash (~5 mins ago). The server sometimes goes nearly 2 weeks without a crash and then can crash twice in a day... the inconsistency to it and lack of error codes is making it difficult for me to see any cause. I've reinstalled ArmA on our server, as well as the mods. Maybe I'm missing something obvious but your help would be massively appreciated. RPT: https://pastebin.com/Kguhygi0 Kind Regards, Mark

Unknown Issue Causing Server Crash
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
As @TroyT said. As for CBA, I just downloaded it off their website and searched for ammo1. I'm sure if you do the same you'll get the same results. -

I just downloaded another fresh copy of CBA_A3 and found "ammo1" in the following files: CBA_A3-master\addons\common\fnc_removeMagazineCargo.sqf and CBA_A3-master\addons\disposable\fnc_firedDisposable.sqf Must be in CBA... -

Unknown Issue Causing Server Crash
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
No search results for "ammo1" in anything other than the RPT logs Edit: I take that back. In archived versions of my server, "ammo1" is mentioned in the CBA_A3 mod, in the cba_common.pbo file. I'll check the new versions that have been released but I'm guessing it'll be in the latest update of CBA. -

I can't figure out what this stems from 0:20:16 Error in expression <(ammo1+ammo2)> 0:20:16 Error position: <ammo1+ammo2)> 0:20:16 Error Undefined variable in expression: ammo1 0:20:16 unable to compile MFD condition '(ammo1+ammo2)' -

@BaroN thanks for your time mate. I've taken off KA Weapons to remove some of those errors and will be looking through it again. M -

[Release] ZCP - Zupa's (& City) Capture Points 3.1 ( 23 september update )

Cheers for letting me know, @NFGCaboose-1. I guess it's another mod that has fallen by the wayside? -
[Release] ZCP - Zupa's (& City) Capture Points 3.1 ( 23 september update )
SleePyHollow150 replied to Zupa's topic in Add-ons
Hi @Zupa, I find myself in an odd situation where the mod seems to be installed fine but there's no bombing cleanup after an area is captured? It says it's going to bomb the area in 300s but never does. The a3_zcp_exile.pbo is in the @ExileServer\addons directory. This is the bombing code in my fn_config.sqf: I can attach my entire fn_config if needed. Thanks for your help. Mark -
Re-spawning causing lag for other players
SleePyHollow150 replied to MrNeal's question in Serverside
Hi Russ, I note EBM causes a lot of errors in the RPT, namely due to incorrectly configured shadows/objects. e.g. The bollard is also particularly troublesome. Have you tried uninstalling EBM and seeing if anything changes? Kind Regards, Mark -
Hi all, I've been having intermittent server crashes on my Exile Altis server (every day or so, maybe twice). I've checked the RPT and I've noticed a recurring entry just before the crash: Deinitialized shape [Class: "C_Soldier_VR_F"; Shape: "a3\characters_f_bootcamp\common\vr_soldier_f.p3d";] That line is always before the C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION that ensues. I do have the full RPT available but it is quite big as I've got A3XAI debug on at the mo. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help. Mark

I didn't reinstall Arma. Read my post again. -

Again you're simply not reading what I'm saying; a recurring theme throughout this post. I'm not repeating myself again. Prime example - you've said I've not shared the fix yet I quite literally have in the quote above. -
Server crash after certain log in RPT.
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
I've fixed my server issues, @Z80CPU. I fixed them yesterday with my method as it included an extra step before just "straight to reinstall". Typical almighty "IT support". You're only making yourself look bad. Again, please can this be closed as it's not going anywhere. -
I also note that you might not have access to the steamupdate function like I did. If this is the case, I'd suggest getting a fresh copy of the files from a known and safe source. I could send them to you if you like. M

Server crash after certain log in RPT.
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
With all due respect, @Z80CPU, you're not being helpful. You haven't really read what I have said and insist on skipping some basic trouble shooting steps. You insist on giving "proper advice" but all your advice would've caused is a headache and a lot of work because reinstalling the entire system and then reinstalling every single mod isn't something you do in 5 minutes. Not every instance of this issue is on Chernarus and not every instance is caused by bad scripting. All you are doing is confusing people. I'd suggest this thread is marked as solved and closed as it's no longer going anywhere. -
Hi @LYSY, I've just had this issue with my server. We had a corrupted core file. Please see my solution in this thread: While you might not have the same issue, it's worth a shot? Hope that helps. Kind Regards, Mark

Server crash after certain log in RPT.
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
Mine restarts every 4 hours but I know that, if I cut the restart time to 3 hours, we wouldn't have the access violations as they always occurred around 3 hours 20 mins into the server run time. -

Guessing you might've corrupted those files then, @Brenner? -
Server crash after certain log in RPT.
SleePyHollow150 replied to SleePyHollow150's question in Serverside
Hi @Z80CPU, Thanks for your reply. I don't know if there's been a miscommunication or misunderstanding here but I'm not refusing to listen to your advice. Some things have simple fixes, such as a quick change of code and that is why I was asking here - I was looking to see if anyone was aware of an obvious fix before I began troubleshooting. I wasn't trying to solve an entire issue by sidestepping conventional troubleshooting methods/processes - one of the first steps is to see if anyone else has had the issue and if there is an obvious fix. My fix is below as I followed my logical troubleshooting process. P.S. @Z80CPU, I did bother to read up on the issue and I do have backups! I believe I have solved the problem by locating the files related to the log that was occurring (in the RPT) immediately before the crash. For anyone else who experiences it, this is the log I am referring to in the RPT: Deinitialized shape [Class: "C_Soldier_VR_F"; Shape: "a3\characters_f_bootcamp\common\vr_soldier_f.p3d";] I initially confirmed with my server host company that there were no hardware issues. I deleted the steamapps folder off my server. I deleted the a3.pbo and the characters_f_bootcamp.pbo files off of my server, as well as their corresponding .bisign files. These are located in the addons directory. I ran the steam update process to download fresh copies of the above files and to replace the steamapps folder. Once the above steps had been completed, I restarted the server and it hasn't crashed since. I hope this is of use for anyone who comes across this error. Kind Regards, Mark -

@Z80CPU - I was just trying to get some specific detail on that log and see if anyone else had ran into that issue. I wasn't disagreeing with your idea/method. It's always been in my mind but as a last resort due to the time it takes compared to the time I have spare. -

I'm very familiar with the concept of files getting corrupted though. I'm just wondering if there's anything specific about that one?
